The Marlette Lake Dam has served the Carson City region for over 150 years — and rehabilitating it required navigating one of the more logistically demanding construction environments in the region. This presentation provides a comprehensive overview of the Marlette Lake Dam Rehabilitation project: what the structure is, why rehabilitation was necessary, and how construction was executed in a remote, high-altitude, ecologically sensitive watershed. The bulk of the presentation focuses on the construction process itself, the sequencing, the constraints, the coordination, and the decisions that defined how this project got built. Attendees will come away with a clear picture of what made this dam rehabilitation genuinely unique, along with practical lessons learned that can be helpful for all infrastructure projects.
